Dancewear By Diana
My love for sewing began at a very early age. I would watch my mother sew dresses for her and myself. I found it very fascinating on how she would take a flat piece of fabric and create a dress out of it! I expressed the desire to learn but my mother was fearful I would sew my fingers on her home model electric Kenmore machine. My father was employed at Sears, so one day he brought home a Singer treadle sewing machine that someone had traded in for a new model. This makes me laugh, and makes me sound like a “dinosaur”! So, at the age of 5, I began making Barbie clothes and accessories and selling them to my friends. Throughout my early years I sewed clothes for myself on my mom’s Kenmore sewing machine. After High School, I was employed at a sewing factory and worked there for over 5 years. It was here that I began my love for faster sewing machines! To this day, I have my own little sewing factory with 9 sewing machines. I started making dance wear in 1980. I now design and sew for individuals, dance groups, and major Universities.
